The top pic is one of my very old Needlecraft magazine, I cannot believe how large these magazines were back then. There is lots of crochet patterns in these magazines. 

The second pic I received on Facebook and I fell hard for this horse. If I could have a horse this is what I would have isn't she pretty?

It's raining here in Vegas and my doggies are having a blast playing in the rain puddles. It doesn't rain here very often so it's pretty nice change of weather.

Bliss

Me crochetr and my sweet girl Teacup. And the pic below is the oval doilies I made this past week. The first doily is from the Christmas magazine and the other two are the same pattern but the middle one is size 20 thread and the other is size 10.  The last pic is my Buster boy

Little lady completed

 Here she is my pretty little (not much) Crinoline Lady. She ended up being 2 inches longer that I needed her to be but she turned out great. Im going to use her as an armrest doily as she was intended to be used. When I get her finished little gentleman done Ill take pics of her on her chair.

 This is the frame that I have 2 of. I want to crochet doilies to be put in them. They measure 10 by 12 inches so really I need to have the doily measure around 9 by 11 inches or maybe 8 by 11 inches. I ordered a oval doily book that Vikki found on Etsy for me so Im hoping there will be a oval doily in it that I will like and that will fit in my frames.

Heres my little Attic 24 flower I made a few months ago but I don't think I ever posted about it. So here it is in all its glory It hangs in my hallway and it brightens my day every time I see it. I want to make a bird house to hang next to it in nice bright colors. And maybe a few birds to fly around them both. What do you think? Does that sound like too much of a good thing? heehee 

Pizza Lounge visit

 Heres my sweet Teacup in all her glory. Shes very bossy and rules this nest with an iron fist if she had a fist! But all she can wield is a tiny little paw.

 OOOO this was so very good, Its Meatballs and mash potatoes, with pizza sauce on it all. The meatballs melted in my mouth. The beer was a nice brew very light with peach tones I dint order it Terry did and he really liked it. Im taking my niece Julie and her hubby along with my mom to their afternoon bash on Thursday.

Heres a view of the Pizza Lounge it is so pretty and very clean. I loved it there I cant wait to go back. Im hoping to go Thursday because they have specials after 4 pm till 7 pm. a lot of 5.00 specials and 2 dollars off beers and wines. Any excuse for a nice glass of wine.

doilies from June and July 2013

 Tada here it is my very lovely July CAL that I did with Stitchy McFloss. It was a little touch and go there but with her help I finished the doily. Im so happy I did It turned out lovely don't you all think?

 This little doily I made in the middle of Junes CAL and Julys CAL its really cute I think. Was thinking of making it a lot bigger but now Im having second thoughts

Heres my Crinoline lady. I started it a about three days ago and I struggled with the beginning but its taking shape now. I was hoping it would be smaller but its what it is. Im using a size 13 hook and size 40 thread. I suppose I could have used a size 20 thread but Ive begun so now this is what it is. Ill keep you all posted.

1952 Chair Doily Set

 Heres pics of my next doily set. I bought 2 very ornate picture frames that I wanted to add a doily to.  Ill take pics of the frames later to show you.But I could not find a doily that I liked till now. I bought the book off of Ebay and just received it. This is the back of the chair doily I haven't decided if Im going to make or not

 This is the Lady Doily that I will be making for one of the frames. The frame is a oval frame so Im thinking of adding more stitches to the top so it doesn't look like a straight line on top. Isnt she pretty?

 This is the Gentleman doily. I like him too. THe pattern calls for size 40 thread. Ive never used such thin thread before but I think I can get used to it.

Hers what the set looks like altogether. Isnt it pretty? The pattern is dated 1952. I fell madly for it when I saw it. Please pray all goes well as I stitch it up.

 

Im still working on my Cluster Stitch Doily dated 1955, I have 6 more rows to go. I had some difficulties but with Stitchy McFloss' help I have figured that I need to read the pattern carefully to understand it. With being so old they read different than todays patterns. Thanks Vicki love your help!

July doily

I'm in the beginning stages of the July CAL doily from Stitchy McFloss . I have been a difficult stitcher for Stitchy if I would stop and read the pattern as written I would not be having such difficulties.

I love the doily anyways it's going to be really pretty when it's done.

We had a very quite 4 th of July. But my ever all hearing dogs barked all night at the fireworks in the neighborhood.

I made the wrist thread holder a few years back, it comes in very handy when I take my doily along with me.

Lucilles BBQ

Yumm, We ate out at Lucilles BBQ. It was so very good. I think its one of my favorites for BBQ. They served me some awesome corn chowder and some great homemade buns with apple butter. Yummy. I shared a sample platter with Terry and brought home their bread pudding with bourbon sauce, yummmmm. I love me some bread pudding.

  Im waiting patiently for Stitchy McFloss to let me know what the next CAL will be. I have finished 2 adult hats working on the 3rd. Ill take a pic for you later.

June Doily and craft room

 This is a closeup of the June Crochet Along I did with Stitchy

 Heres the whole doily I know its a little hard to see with my shadow in the way

 This is just some of my yarn and sewing junk I took out of my craft room

This is my little craft room. My sister Carri and I are attempting to organize and clean it up so I can add all my yarn. I should have taken a pic of my library where all my yarn is stashed. When we finish I will post a tadah pic.

 

Ok Im off to start my crochet for charity I need to get started so I can have plenty for the holidays.

Lily Pond Doily & Anniversary Dinner

Yesterday was our 39th wedding anniversary. We kept seeing the commercial from Famous Daves burnt ends so we went there for our special day. We didn't like them as much as we liked the Rib Tips instead.

We enjoyed our week together we hung out at the house and did a little shopping and all in all had a nice week.

Next year it will be our 40th and we are hoping to go on a cruise to Alaska. If not we are going to go hang out with my sister at her time share in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Id love to go into Reno and hangout at Jimmy Beans and shop for some great yarn.

Ok Im working on the June CAL from StitchyMcFloss , so far so good:) lol I kinda like this one Im stitching it up with DMC Dusty Rose size 10 thread using a size 8 hook, it called for a size 7 hook but I couldn't find mine. Its probably stuck in some other project that I started and never finished, As soon as do a little more Ill take some pics for you all to see my progress.

Romantic Pineapple Doily

I put this 27 inch doily on my stool at the end of my bed and it is so big I cant even use it for what I wanted to use it for, so I think Ill make another one after I get the June 1 CAL done, Im thinking of maybe using a size 7 or 6 hook. We will see,

Romatic doily finished

Here is my finished Doily. Isnt it lovely? Its rather big at 27" around. I love tho. Its in lavender and dark purple around the edge. As soon as it dries Ill post a better pic.

Im starting another doily from StitchyMcflos come join us its very lovely.

I want to put out a little help me with a pattern if you can. Im looking for a 12" by 9: oval doily to put into some antique frames that I have. If anyone runs across a pattern Id appreciate it if you drop me off a little comment of where I can purchase or get one for free. Thanks in advance.

My friend Karen has started our charity of Senior Lapghans for this year. She already has 5 done I just need to put them together. I taught my sister Carri to do a granny square so Im hoping she will make a few for me too. Hoping to make 50 this year.

I found an error in row 27 so here it is

the dark underlined st is the one missing from the patter. I hope this helps anyone else that is doing this pattern.

Heres my finished Pineapple Doily. I finished it last week I think it was Monday, and I starched it on Tuesday. I think I put a little too much starch I may rewash and see if I can  get it to be not so stiff.

Im starting another one that over at Stitchy McFloss is having a crochet along. I really like the doily so Im going to start as soon as I get my thread, I haven't figured out the color yet, I was thinking lavender.

Ive been busy redoing my bedroom and bath they started tiling today YAY

New friends..

I discovered a new blog the other day and I just fell in love with her blog and writings. You can go to her site Stitchy MCFloss. She crochets wonderfully and tells the most treasured stories about her friends and crochet and knitting too!

Through her I discovered Vikki over at her blog By Hooks 4 U .She had just finished crocheting the most lovely doily called Debbie by designer Patricia Kristoffersen you can see her doilies and pretties over on her site pkcrochet.com. she has lovely crochet goodies. But right now her pdf files are not working so I started making another doily from a book that I found at Savers Thrift Store from designer Margret Rost the book is from LA Round Doilies 1988. Its a pineapple design. I bought the thread from Vikki and wow oh wow did it fly through the mail. I bought the thread from her on one day and recieved the thread just a few days later. I love the color I had never seen this color before until I say it on Vikkis site. And Vikki has all the colors you would want so if your in need of thread go visit her site.

The doily Im working on is very nice and smooth, Im enjoying it quite a lot. When I do finish it Ill post a pic for you all too see.

Im still in the midst of redecorating my bedroom, closet and bathroom. We are all at a stand still Im hoping that they will start back up again next Monday.

Hi ya Peeps,
  Its been hectic around here to say the least.we had a flood in our master bath that went into our closet then into the bedroom. So we called Allstate our insurance and they came right out. Took pics then went away. when they came back to us they informed us that they would have to tear our all our walls andtile in bathroom due to asbestos in the walls.
   They took everything out(I forgot to take pics) I did get some pics of the closet after they finished how do you like it?

 The shoe box in the middle of the room is leaving and Ill just have a chaise lounge in the middle to sit on. Its cedar lined closet isnt it gorgeous. I can wait for it all to be finished

January 2013 cleaning update

Just a little summer to enjoy in all this winter.

My house is in a uproar Im cleaning cleaning cleaning even tho my sis and I have come down with the flu. Carri has been helping me. We got the livingroom cleanind out Tomorrow I will be scrubbing the floor and then moving furniture around and laying carpets.

I had an accident happen in my bedroom bath and it flooded three rooms(bathroom. closet and bedroom) floors so we will be cleaning the bedroom secondly right along with cleaning the livingroom even tho we didnt plan it.

My camera is busted (so sad). So there will be no pics unless I can figure out how to upload my phone pics, i will try.

Ok have a very healthy and fun year to come...

New Year to refurbish

In the coming new year 2013 is going to be my cleaning year. Im going to start with my living room them move to my craft room and then do my library. Ive decided to get rid of most of my stuff so I think Ill have a yard sale March or May as soon as it heats up.
  My house is a wreck and it really needs a destash of past years. I seem to keep it all from receipts to toys I really dont need. I think Im saving my memories but no one really cares about any of it but me and its cluttering up my home.
 So Im making 2013 my year to CLEAN and DECLUTTER my home. I think hubby will love it.
Im going to take pics of before and after so you can see the miracle to come :) lol

  I received two new crochet hooks for this year and they are awesome I ordered them from Celtic Swan Forge. They are solid silver and they work like butter if thats possible. They are real smooth and they warm to the touch.

I pray this new year brings you great fortune and joys. Be blessed from the SON

Heres our newest addition to our family.Her name is Teacup and shes a mini dachshund. Shes 9 weeks old and a very big bundle of joy. She loves playing with the other doggies. Even tho they are much bigger than her she holds her own with them.

We had a very busy Halloween and lots of goblins wanting candy:) ooooh what fun

Ive been busy making little snowflakes for my Christmas cards this year. Using my own little pattern

Happy Birthday my friend

This is my very good friend Karen K. Today is her 56th birthday. She is always 6 months behind me and now she has caught up to me until December that is.

She looks cumfy here huh? She was tired from working with my doggies. She loves dogs. Shed have lots like me if she could.

 

Our church is having their annual Oasis Craft Fair in October and Im trying to make little goodies I do hope they will sell I just never know what to make at these things. I never buy because I always think to myself that I would be able to make what I want. 

 

I joined the Womans group at church and they are having a retreat in September Pray all goes well for me. We are going up the the Baptist Church at Mt. Charleston. My very favorite place to be. If I could afford it I'd live up there. It is so peaceful and pretty.

Ive been crocheting a new pattern to me, but a very vintage (1910) pattern that someone asked me to work up Im almost done with it. Ita going to be very pretty. Ill post a pic as soon as Im finished. If I think about it Ill take a pic before Im finished. What have you all been up to?

Ive started but I cant say what because maybe just maybe someone is reading my posts.

Im excited about fall, cooler weather and crisp air and Thanksgiving wow all the fall veggies. I cant wait to see what the farmers market has in store for me this year. I love getting new exciting veggies to make. Ive been on Pinterest getting new recipes and patterns for the fall and CHRISTmas. Have you got something exciting going on in your neck of the woods?

I know not a lot of people read this blog but lets just think of this blog as a well kept secret? what do you all think?

Ive got a recipe for my favorite soup for the fall or just a cooled down day coming next week so look for it!

Bella

2006-2012

This has been a bad week for me very sad indeed. My sweet pound puppy Bella went to heaven last Monday. She was very sick and it came on very fast. Nothing we could do for her but help her go peacefully.

I will miss her very much. My hubby got her from the pound for me one very bleak day. She brightened my day immensely. She was so happy to be with me and I loved her totally. She loved everybody that came into our home and they all loved her right back.

My friend Karen says she was alot older than what the pound , they said she was just a puppy but my friend said she was more like 2 to 3 years old. That would make her alot older when she passed.

I hope you all play a little more with your fur babies and that you remember those that have gone ahead of us

I ve been busy watching the Olympics and they have been rather thrilling I must say.

Ive decided not to go anywhere this year for my summer vacation. Im hoping next year to take a trip to Portland, Oregon. Maybe even get up to Washington as well. Im hoping we can go to the

 Black Sheep Wool Festival in June of next year in Eugene, Oregon
