My very first knitted sock!

Ok here it is, all by itself! My very first knitted sock and my very first knitted item! Wow I cannot believe that I actually knitted this little sock. I have started the second one too. And I feel like I might know what I'm doing! Haha I really enjoyed the process of knitting, that I want to start knitting a lot more. I've already started making a dog sweater for my Teacup. I really think that I enjoy the not knowing what I'm doing, and then learning to knit. Wow what a rush to learn something new and exciting to learn more.

Here's my little sock footrest. Isn't she cute? She likes to sit at my feet and she loves it even more if I rub belly with my said foot. Does your babies do this too?

This pic looks like I've got my foot at her throat but I really don't. I'm not even touching her. She is my little kitty cat. She is so soft that she reminds me of how soft cats are.

It's voting time here in Nevada so I went early! I hate all the ads don't you?

Please continue to pray for our nation.
Pray for Isreal
Pray for all Gods children
Pray for Peace

Doilies and Tea

Here's my sweet grand children. Alex, Riley and Izabella. They all took a birthday trip to Disneyland over the weekend.

Here's my bounty from them. Alex brought me the sweetest black tea from Disneyland. It is so good, very tasty. Yum!

Here's my finished doily from doing Scottys blog. It was hard and it was challenging, but I loved it. So fun even tho I had to rip out several times.
The bottom pic is where I put the doily on my living room dining table. It is so pretty. It only turned out to measure 18" I used a size 4 steel hook and 10 thread. I was confused on the instruction but having the picture helped a lot. Thanks Pammy Sue for a great CAL!

Colorado trip fun

This is my trip to Aurora, Colorado to see my friend Debbie. I've known Debbie since elementary school. We grew up and wild together.

When I arrived in Colorado Debbie found out that the town was having a Yarn Crawl. I have never heard of that. So Debbie took me around to 4 of the stores, there was over 25 stores participating. wow Las Vegas has only 2 yarn stores. I was so excited going to each store. I'm standing in front of Tea for Ewe, they served fantastic Earl Grey Lavendar tea with some awesome cotton yarn! So much fun!

This is a shawl made from Quincy and Co. Piper yarn shawl, it's knitting so I need to learn knit this shawl. The store was a yarn store and quilting store in one. It's called Fancy Tiger Crafts. They were fabulous so nice.

We went to Garden of the Gods. And we went to see the Balancing Rock. Debbie talked me into climbing up there to take this pick. I know you can't see it but I was wearing my flip flops. I held Debbie's hubby Dans hand all the way up there.

Please pray for leaders of our wonderful country. And pray for Isreal.
Pray for all Gods children we need Him now more than ever!

Grand daughters delights

I've been working on my grand daughter Izabellas 17 th birthday gifts. The owl slippers are for her. And the sock monkey slippers are for my other grand daughter Alex, she loves monkeys
Here's the tote I made Izabella. I ordered her some cook books one for baking and another for general cooking. She is really getting into baking so I thought I'd buy her some tools to help her along the way!  I made Alex a tote too but forgot to take a pic. I made her a knitting tote while I was in Montana a few years back and she used it a lot now that she's knitting up a storm. Well some low life stoled it from her friends car while they were getting lunch. So I made her another one.

Ok here is the evidence that I've been knitting! Haha it's my little sock, I'm in the middle of doing the heel. The little grey piece is a piece knitted by Alex she was learning to do cable work. She did an awesome job. She didn't know what to do with it because it was too small so I asked her for it. I'm going to frame it. She is getting so good at knitting!

Ok peeps pray for our world and all Gods children.

Lazy day today

The top pic is Sissi responding to the air conditioner man. Because last night at 2 am in the morning my air conditioning caught on fire! I called the fire dept and they searched the house and said the air conditioner burnt up. Boy was I happy my house wasn't burning up. As you can see Sissi and Teacup are exausted from being up all night.

God has blessed me by watching out for me that's for sure!

Crazy butt cactus

Here's my crazy butt cactus in full bloom. This was 6 am this morning. It is so pretty. I'm thinking it blooms at night. What do you think?

These are my little barrel cactus one of my neighbors gave me. I can't wait ti see these in bloom!

I'm so worried about our world and my country, but God keeps telling me not to worry that He is in control. Are any of you worried too? I'm delving into the Word and learning to give my worries over to Him.
Please pray for Isreal and all Gods children!

Spring fling...

Here I am in all my glory with Sissi on my sholder

I saw this and wanted to share with all my crotchety friends! I love it!

This is the Olive Twist scarf from the Love of Crochet magazine of summer 2014 . I loved making this scarf, once I figured out what to do. I made this scarf for my dear friend Lisa on her birthday this year and I'm taking her out to Nora's for dinner.

Friends please keep praying for peace and for our country! We so need it.

Ok part 2 of busy day..

This is suppose to be a gift for a friend . But it's not coming out right! Eyikes!

Here are the pics of the bag I bought off EBay for my knitting. It has a lovely bouquet of flowers on each side. Made in filet crochet, the Irish rose and leaf was made by me because little Sissi chewed a hole in it the day I received it. She just knew mommy needed to put her own touches to it!

Been busy...

This here is my very old new knitting bag. When I decided to take up sock knitting I felt I needed a dedicated bag just for the knit items.
The day I received this from EBay, I also had just gotten my little Sissi. I put the bag next to me and made a phone call and Sissi promptly chewed a big hole in the mesh part of the filet crochet!
As you can see I patched it up with a Celtic Irish crochet rose and leaf. Nice fix I must say so myself! Never leave it by Sissi again is my new motto! LoL

Here evadince of my not so great knitting
, I can not determine what is a purl stitch verses a knit stitch so I can do a rib stitch. I get lost, so I gave up and started to just knit instead, but my teacher says I need to learn the rib stitch for my socks so I'm back at it!

Please my dear friends PRAY for Peace in this crazy world! I know God must have a solution so let's pray for Him to come quickly!

Full moon from God 7/2014

Have I told you my friends what an awesome God I have?
He loves me as  He loves you.
He walks this earth and sends His love to us always.
He also sends us companions, angels , friends, and spouses.
We are blessed to have a God that watches over us every minute of every day!
I've been blessed in my life with all of you in it.
My prayer is that you know that you are all loved in the same way as I am.

July in Vegas, hot, hot, hot!

This is a little doily I found on the internet on Thursday and I finished it on Friday. It is so cute, I need to block it then I think I'll give it away as a gift to a friend of mine.

Here's Sissi and Teacup actually liking each other. It's taken awhile for Teacup to welcome Sissi into our pack but she is finally mellowing  to the idea. You can see Pickle in the background, Pickle and Sissi are best of friends.
I found this little caption on Pinterest and it states how I feel sometimes when people ask me what I'm knitting. Nothing against knitting but come on already!
Speaking of knitting I'm learning to knit socks, it's been real slow because I have so much crochet going on at this time of the year.

So tell me what are you all working on?

Bounty of 2014

Thought I'd show you my sweet boy Buster! Just a sweet treat.

Here's my bounty of grapes from my vines this year! I'm thinking of making grape jam or jelly. Have any of you made jam from grapes before? I've never canned before so it will be something new to make. Any advice? Looks yummy, and they are very sweet!

Life with Sissi

This is a follow up of life with Sissi!
We got Sissi from the local pound on Thursday. We paid 210.00 for this sweet dog. My hubby bought her for me for our 40th wedding anniversary gift. I was tickled pink, she was as sweet as can be. We went to purchase her and I informed them I had three dogs at home waiting for her to join them.
Well we got her home and introduced her to every dog seindividually ad they all seemed fine with her but maybe not my Teacup doxie. She was not thrilled by her at all.
Come Sunday our Pickle was coughing and feeling sick. We waited till Tuesday and took her to our vet. Then on Wednesday the other two fur babies started getting sick! Now all three were as sick as can be. Come to find out Sissi had picked up a virus at the pound and got all my fur babies sick, then by Friday she was sick too!
My little gift cost us around 700.00 by the time they all went to the vet and all their meds.
Now she is just one of the family she I a as healthy as can be.
She is a pure delight and has come out of her shell.
Tho I must tell you it took awhile before Teacup would accept her into the fold. Now they play all the time.
I just thought I'd share a little of my life with you all!

I'm crocheting again after getting Sissi I took a week off because all I wanted to do was play and hold her all the time. Lol. By the time I did get back to crocheting my hands hurt. Have you ever had that problem not crocheting awhile then starting again with hurting hands?
Ok be blessed my friends and stay cool!

Meet Sissi Poo

Here she is Miss Sissi Poo we believe she is a mix of Havanese and Poodle. Mostly poodle.we went to the local pound to look at another bigger dog for hubby. I went and looked at all the other dogs while he played with the dog he wanted. But because she was from an abuse and fighting place we decided not to get her.
The very last dog was this beautiful poodle. I took one look and I just had to have her. They told me she was found in an empty lot wondering around, she had no chip but was well groomed. They also told me she was 9 months old!
She turned out to be 1 1/2 years old per my vet. She is so cute and soft nod cuddly. My doxie is so mad at me because I brought her home to live with us. But as the days go by and I pay loads of attention to Teacup, she is starting to accept her into the pact. As you can tell she has taken over everything and if I wasn't told different she acts just like a 9 month old puppy.
Terry bought her for me for our 40 th wedding anniversary. I hope to keep her for another 40 years!
God I'd so good to me!

New puppy

This is my granddaughter Alexandria aka Pickle. Isn't she beautiful? She is working on her own and she attends school also.

I've been meaning to post on here but for some reason my pictures are not coming through lately. I really need to take some classes on how to operate this mini IPad. I so love it! Thanks Shawn for getting it for me!
I've got a new fur baby  to show you. She is so sweet. I found her at our local pound. She is so soft and sweet. She promptly got all the other dogs sick with a virus. She ended up costing me some 700.00 dollars later, after they all had to go to the vets.
But I don't hold it against her. As soon as I can I'll post her pictures.

I've taken up knitting socks. I've wanted to learn for a long time. And the opportunity arose so I have my second class this Wednesday.
I've been playing so much with Sissi the new puppy that I haven't crocheted a lot lately and I have so much to do. I'm still working on The Lords Supper and a baby blanket with dress for a neighbor.

Ok be blessed with joy my friends!

Love

My. Lords Supper slowly coming along. But very enjoyable. I so love doing this, I really have no idea what to do with it once I'm done. I'm thinking of framing it.
Here's my sweet grand daughter Izabella, she is such a sweet heart, I love her very much!

So tell me friends what are you upto now that winter is over and summer is on it's way? It's been non stop wind here in Vegas this spring.

I'm making a baby blanket for a new mother a few houses down the street. Her little girl will be here August 1st. She is so sweet and new to the neighborhood.

I'm so blessed living in Vegas no bad weather to say other than heat when it warms up, but thank God for air conditioners. I grew up with swamp coolers but I totally prefer air conditioners. Do you have them in your house..Scripture for today
Holy, Holy, Holy
lord God Almighty,
Which was, and is,
and is to come.
