January 2013 cleaning update

Just a little summer to enjoy in all this winter.

My house is in a uproar Im cleaning cleaning cleaning even tho my sis and I have come down with the flu. Carri has been helping me. We got the livingroom cleanind out Tomorrow I will be scrubbing the floor and then moving furniture around and laying carpets.

I had an accident happen in my bedroom bath and it flooded three rooms(bathroom. closet and bedroom) floors so we will be cleaning the bedroom secondly right along with cleaning the livingroom even tho we didnt plan it.

My camera is busted (so sad). So there will be no pics unless I can figure out how to upload my phone pics, i will try.

Ok have a very healthy and fun year to come...

New Year to refurbish

In the coming new year 2013 is going to be my cleaning year. Im going to start with my living room them move to my craft room and then do my library. Ive decided to get rid of most of my stuff so I think Ill have a yard sale March or May as soon as it heats up.
  My house is a wreck and it really needs a destash of past years. I seem to keep it all from receipts to toys I really dont need. I think Im saving my memories but no one really cares about any of it but me and its cluttering up my home.
 So Im making 2013 my year to CLEAN and DECLUTTER my home. I think hubby will love it.
Im going to take pics of before and after so you can see the miracle to come :) lol

  I received two new crochet hooks for this year and they are awesome I ordered them from Celtic Swan Forge. They are solid silver and they work like butter if thats possible. They are real smooth and they warm to the touch.

I pray this new year brings you great fortune and joys. Be blessed from the SON

My very good friend Debbie. She was making dinner and boy oh boy can she cook. She was living in Hawaii at the time and she made me some wonderful meals especially her peanut butter cookies, yummm.

intro to Teacup

Heres our newest addition to our family.Her name is Teacup and shes a mini dachshund. Shes 9 weeks old and a very big bundle of joy. She loves playing with the other doggies. Even tho they are much bigger than her she holds her own with them.

We had a very busy Halloween and lots of goblins wanting candy:) ooooh what fun

Ive been busy making little snowflakes for my Christmas cards this year. Using my own little pattern

Happy Birthday my friend

This is my very good friend Karen K. Today is her 56th birthday. She is always 6 months behind me and now she has caught up to me until December that is.

She looks cumfy here huh? She was tired from working with my doggies. She loves dogs. Shed have lots like me if she could.

 

Our church is having their annual Oasis Craft Fair in October and Im trying to make little goodies I do hope they will sell I just never know what to make at these things. I never buy because I always think to myself that I would be able to make what I want. 

 

I joined the Womans group at church and they are having a retreat in September Pray all goes well for me. We are going up the the Baptist Church at Mt. Charleston. My very favorite place to be. If I could afford it I'd live up there. It is so peaceful and pretty.

Ive been crocheting a new pattern to me, but a very vintage (1910) pattern that someone asked me to work up Im almost done with it. Ita going to be very pretty. Ill post a pic as soon as Im finished. If I think about it Ill take a pic before Im finished. What have you all been up to?

Ive started but I cant say what because maybe just maybe someone is reading my posts.

Im excited about fall, cooler weather and crisp air and Thanksgiving wow all the fall veggies. I cant wait to see what the farmers market has in store for me this year. I love getting new exciting veggies to make. Ive been on Pinterest getting new recipes and patterns for the fall and CHRISTmas. Have you got something exciting going on in your neck of the woods?

I know not a lot of people read this blog but lets just think of this blog as a well kept secret? what do you all think?

Ive got a recipe for my favorite soup for the fall or just a cooled down day coming next week so look for it!

Bella

2006-2012

This has been a bad week for me very sad indeed. My sweet pound puppy Bella went to heaven last Monday. She was very sick and it came on very fast. Nothing we could do for her but help her go peacefully.

I will miss her very much. My hubby got her from the pound for me one very bleak day. She brightened my day immensely. She was so happy to be with me and I loved her totally. She loved everybody that came into our home and they all loved her right back.

My friend Karen says she was alot older than what the pound , they said she was just a puppy but my friend said she was more like 2 to 3 years old. That would make her alot older when she passed.

I hope you all play a little more with your fur babies and that you remember those that have gone ahead of us

I ve been busy watching the Olympics and they have been rather thrilling I must say.

Ive decided not to go anywhere this year for my summer vacation. Im hoping next year to take a trip to Portland, Oregon. Maybe even get up to Washington as well. Im hoping we can go to the

 Black Sheep Wool Festival in June of next year in Eugene, Oregon

Red Roses Anniversary gift

 My anniversary was last June 8th and hubby promised me that he would buy me my favorite oil that I use everyday after my shower. Its one of Jo Malones fragrances called Red Roses. It smells just like fresh picked roses. This is how they wrap up your purchases.

 Inside the big bag is a very pretty box very nicely wrapped as well. Inside was my Red Roses

Hubby loves me so much that he even bought me the Red Roses lotion. The sales clerk gave me several little containers of the scent as well. I didnt even know that they even sold the fragrance like that. Next year I may inquire about the Red Roses Perfume if they have it. I get a lot of compliments on this fragrance. And I only have to added on me after my morning shower and it lasts all day long.

time and again

This is me, you know, Sherri. I was in Montana awhile ago with my friend Karen. We had a great time. It was so very nice to sit at a table without the sun beating down on you at 113 degrees. It rained alot and my Bella was with me. She totally enjoyed herself. I hope one day that I can take her back.

I want to say how sad I was about the Aurora nightmare. I pray for the victims and their families to gain some very much needed peace and a feeling of pure safety. My prayers are with them

a little crochet and the fur babies

 I know its been awhile but I wanted to show you all my little bag I made along with the baby blanket that I made for my friend Dianes granddaughter Miriah who is making Di a Great Grandma. This is the first time that I lined the crocheted bag I just loved the material it matched the bag perfectly, dont you all think?

 I havent shown you all updated pics of my fur babies as of late. Heres Buster looking at my thinking come on it doesnt get any better pose than this, alright?

This here is little girl Pickle who thinks when I get up from my seat she can jump right up and lay there, do you think she will ever move from there?

Hers my mama girl Bella, she does not like all these other dogs living in her house, not one bit!

Happy Birthday to the USA

Medallion Motif Lionbrand pattern #60123A

 I am posting a clearer pic of the motif I used in my kitchen curtains. I also wanted to tell any of you thats interested that I got the pattern as a freebie  from Lionbrand called the Medallion Motif Scarf #60123A. Now instead of yarn I used crochet cotton size 10 and I used a vintage Susan Bates crochet hook size #2. As you can tell I used red as my accent color to a few of these motifs.

Here they are in all their glory. heehee They fit perfect over my window. Im thinking about maybe making a large doily to go on my kitchen table.What do you think?

Moms booties

 These are my go to booties that I make my mom and sister Carri. They love my booties I wish I could find some better patterns that last longer. If you have any go to patterns please let me know.

Lunch and Curtains

 This is the motif that I used for my kitchen curtains. I used size 10 crochet thread in beige and then added a few dots od red to the curtain. I got the pattern off of Pinterest.com, it was made in a scarf and I adapted in into my little curtains.

This is the curtains in my kitchen. The curtains took me about 2 weeks maybe an extra day more to make. I enjoyed making them. I was originally thinking of maybe a filet design of a rooster but I just could not find what I was looking for If I ever find it I will make them too.

The pic of my lunch was my very first tomato that I grew in my garden. It was so yummy...are you growing anything in your garden?

Ive started a new church and the studies are great.

My friend Karen came out of the hospital and is doing great.

My 38th wedding anniversary is going to be great.

all in a days work

Hi my friends, Ive been busy with my friend KK she had emergency surgery last Thursday and Ive been hanging with her and her little MJ.
  I tried posting pics but for some reason Im not able to.
  I also am really excited about my garden tho it is little Im having some success. I planted watermelons as urged on by my brother and they have just started coming up. My tomatoes are looking good and I have some squash stating to come out. My little bell pepper is coming along really great.
